Safety
If you are in immediate danger, call 999 first.
Built-in safety tools
- SOS button — Sorters have a one-tap SOS in the app during a booking. It records your situation and location and gets you to the emergency options fast.
- Live location sharing — Sorters can share their live location with a trusted contact for the duration of a job, straight from the app.
- Identity-verified accounts — Sorters complete identity verification (photo ID) before they can take paid work, and payments happen in-app — there’s no reason for anyone to ask you to pay or be paid outside Sortr.
Sensible precautions for Sorters
- Keep all communication and payment inside the app. If a customer pushes to move off-app, decline and report it.
- Tell someone where you’re working — or use the in-app live-location share.
- If a job on arrival isn’t what was described, or you feel unsafe at any point, you can leave and cancel as an unsafe site from within the app. Leaving a situation that feels wrong is always the right call — tell us what happened and we’ll take it from there.
For customers
- Your Sorter’s name and photo are shown in the app before they arrive — check they match.
- Keep chat and payment in-app so there’s always a record.
Reporting
Report any safety concern — however small it feels — to safety@sortr.uk, or through the report options in the app. For anything urgent happening now, call 999, then tell us.
