Delete your account
In the app (fastest)
Open the Sortr app → Profile → Delete account (confirmed with a warning dialog). Deletion is permanent: your profile, addresses, saved payment methods, messages, and booking history are removed from active systems, and you are signed out everywhere. If you have a booking in progress, deletion completes once that booking finishes.
By email
Email privacy@sortr.uk from the address on your account with the subject “Delete my account”. We may need to verify it’s really you before acting. We action verified requests without undue delay and confirm when done.
What we keep, and why
Some records are kept after deletion because the law requires it or because we need them to handle a live issue — kept only as long as the legal reason lasts, then removed:
- Payment and tax records (bookings paid, refunds, payouts) — retained for up to 6 years under UK tax and accounting law. Your identity is separated from day-to-day systems.
- Records of an open dispute, safety incident, or legal claim — retained until the matter closes.
- A minimal “do not re-contact” marker if you asked us to stop contacting you.
The full detail is in our privacy policy. If you’re not happy with how a deletion request was handled, see the complaints page — you also have the right to complain to the ICO (ico.org.uk).
